About Kasumii (美しさ)

Hello my name is Kasumii Kurasseria. I am eighteen years old and live in beautiful, sunny California!

Name:
My full name is Kasumii Hanamaio Namako Yokoshira Kurasseria (Long I know but don't blame me) Translated into English it means Beautiful Flowering Crane Silver Crescent.  On the internet I am also known by names like KSapphire, KasumiSapphire, Kasumii sa Sokkan, and KasumiSapphire'sLuminescence.

Info:
My nationality and language is Krestalian (Kurestanasu). I was born on September 28, 1992 in a small town in Central California, I still live here now. I live with my Mother, father, younger sister (16) and we live in my grandparents' house (My grandfather was living with us recently but he is now living with my aunt out of town, my grandmother passed away a few years ago.)

Favorites:
I have many favorite things. I like anime and manga (Some of my favorites include Bleach, Soul Eater, Pokemon, Inuyasha, Yu-gi-oh), but I also like to watch Ghost Shows! (Like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Paranormal State, etc.) I also enjoy playing video games, my favorite platforms being Playstation 2, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS. I love the Dynasty Warriors, Pokemon, and Kingdom Hearts franchises, and I also like Fable, Sims, Phantasy Star, Warriors Orochi, and other similar games. I also spend a lot of time doing GaiaOnline (my name is Kasumii sa Sokkan if you want to find me).
I also like to listen to music. I mostly listen to Asian pop, but every once in a while I will listen to classical music or American pop, sometimes even in oldies like The Beatles. I was first exposed to the wonders of J-Pop in my early teens when my cousin, who was living with us at the, installed some of his music on to my computer for storage. That was the first time I heard songs by Riyu Kosaka and BeForU, from Aqua and Smile.dk, you know all of those old 1999-2003 songs. From there I discovered K-Pop and C-Pop and I was hooked. Now most of my newest favorites are from Korea (SNSD, After School, Co-Ed School, Miss A, Super Junior, etc.), but I still have my favorites (a lot of them being some of those first songs that got me introduced to the genres)
Away from the TV and Computer now, I like to do many other things as well. I enjoy photography (obviously), drawing, writing, and I love the outdoors. One of my favorite places to go is the Redwoods in northern California, we used to go up there at least once a year, but we haven't able to go much in recent years. I also love to go to the beach, not to swim or get a tan, but to look for cool things (I like collecting rocks and shells) and taking pictures of the water and sand and the wildlife. Other things I like to collect are coins (I have many different coins from around the world), Shiny things (I was born in the year of the Monkey after all!), and I am also a really big Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon card nerd (I have thousands of cards and I am kind of embarrassed about it).
My favorite foods include mostly homemade goods my mother makes, like pizza, tortillas, (pretty much anything bread), I also like rice and I can't live without cheese! As for beverages I like tea, milk, I drink a lot of water, and non-caffeinated sodas like Sprite and Orange (Although sometimes I do indulge myself with the wonders of Mountain Dew!) I never ever drink coffee, I have never had it, and hopefully never will, I don't like the smell and besides that, caffeine doesn't really affect me in the slightest bit. I am also big candy fiend! I love all kinds of candy and if you were to ask me what my favorite was, I don't know what I would say, there are so many great options! Oh yes and of course there's Chocolate!
My favorite color is blue. to be more specific Cerulean. I love the color and it's calming abilities and many of my things are blue (My camera, cell phone, Nintendo DS, iPod, pillow cases, blanket, pencils & pens, headphones, the only colors I where outside are blue, black, and white, etc.)

Tools of the Trade:
Since I mostly do photography, my camera is one of my most important possessions. I currently have a Kodak Z913 Digital Camera, which I bought one Christmas ago with my gift money. It isn't the best in the world, but I get by just fine with it, and it's blue so that's a plus! When drawing I usually just use regular old printer paper and draw with a .5, .7, or .9 mechanical pencil and I usually don't ink (If I do it'll be with a fine point Sharpie or other fine point black pen/marker). I also usually don't color them by hand but scan them and then digitally color them in Photoshop (I currently have version 7.0, I know it's old but I'm poor, so sue me) If I do color them it would just be for fun and is usually a copy of the original so not to ruin it and then I do it with either colored pencils or just crayons. While I write I like to listen to some of my music so as to not distract me and to give me inspiration. A lot of my ideas come from dreams, oh the power of your unconscious imagination!

School:
When I was in high school (I graduated last year. Yay Class of '10!) I was in the school's Graphic Design class which is probably the best in the country. I started when I was a Freshman and then I was hooked. Every year after that I added another period dedicated to the class (1 in Sophomore year, 2 in Junior year, and 3 in Senior year). I was accepted into a very good art school in San Francisco, I earned over $33,000 in scholarships by entering in my portfolio but I was unable to go right away like some of my other classmates because of financial reasons. So I went to public College last semester and took 2-D and 3-D design. I was also going to take more classes this semester but due to the classes filing up to fast and because of family problems I was unable to return for another semester. We are going to fill out my FAFSA paperwork soon so to get more so I can get into that art school next year. I originally wanted to become an Architect because when I was younger I loved building things out of blocks and stuff, and the only reason I play the Sims to build the dream houses (Cheats on of course), but during the last semester I was thinking about it and I am somewhat leaning away from that. I kind of want to become a Marine Biologist and be a designer on the side, but I am still not entirely sure of what I want to do. (Marine Biologist because I love fish and water and when I took it in High School I really enjoyed it).
Ever since I was in elementary school I had straight A's and B's, when I was in the fifth grade, on the awards night, I got the most amount of awards out of everyone and I almost became the top of my class (I didn't though because they felt bad that they were giving me so many awards that they didn't want to look like they were picking favorites). When I got into middle school that changed, I got C's and a couple of D's (mostly because I wasn't used to it), when I got into High School, the first year was pretty bad, I almost failed English and Health (I didn't do any homework) and I failed Driver's Ed (because I didn't do the required speaking portion of the class) so I retook it in summer school and I got an A+ with the highest grade in the class ( I do good in school I just don't like to talk). After that I did a lot better, no fails and no D's (I always got D's in math, because I just don't get Algebra) Design, and History were my best subjects every year, in my Junior year I got the highest grade in my ROP Accounting class and even was named ROP Student of the year for that class. In my last semester of Senior year, My GPA for the semester was 4.4 (mostly because of Design and Economics I got over 100% in four periods).

Well that's about all the time I have for this. I hope you learned a lot about me and might have answered any questions you might have had about me. If it didn't then fell free to ask me! Oh yes and BLUE!!!

P.S. I forgot to mention that I am really robo-ninja that saves the world from evil space pirates. But that isn't that important so I guess it doesn't really matter if I forgot it or not.
