T.S.O.M.A.S.A. - Chapter 4 (第四章)

Here is chapter four of T.S.O.M.A.S.A, it is a little bit shorter than the last chapters but it is still a very important one indeed. This chapter introduces the 'Prophecy' and brings up the search for the 'One True Wielder of the Arma' and that there will be a new enemy (The prophecy is at the end of the chapter in italics). Here it is and Enjoy!

Chapter 4:
          The Prophecy

“I understand,” Master Onderwijzer said, “So it appears as though the prophecy may in fact be true after all, and that it is happening within my lifetime.”
“What would you like me to do Master?” Wilonius asked.
“Please bring all three of them to my office.” He replied.
“Now or after their current class is out of session?” Wilonius thought aloud.
“Now please.” Ludwig answered abruptly.

“Good morning students,” Malaika said as she entered her classroom, “Today is your first session of Ability Management. In this class, I will teach you how to, as the name of the class suggests, manage your powers and abilities.”
“Why do we need to ‘manage our abilities’?” Bradley asked, the other students agreeing with him.
“That is a very good question Bradley,” she started, “The answer is in your performances from yesterday. Although you all showed great skill, I know as well as you do that you put al of your power into doing it and it is evident in the fact that you are all exhausted now, as I look around the room, you are all tired.”
“Is there anything wrong with showing you our true power?” Sen Hyung asked, the students again agreeing in unison.
“No there isn’t anything wrong with that at all,” she said, “but that is the purpose of this class, to teach you how to control how much energy you use up when using \your abilities and so you are able to do more powerful attacks without depleting so much of your energy. This class is also for helping with understanding your power. Some of you are not confident using your powers and don’t understand why they had to be the one that was given this great burden, therefore I will help you overcome those personal feelings.”
“First, I will…” she was interrupted by Wilonius as he entered the classroom, “Hello Wilonius, may I help you with something?”
“Yes, Master Onderwijzer would like to see Kasumii, Zokeii and Jake please.” Wilonius said, the entire class shocked, thinking they were already in trouble, only being the second day of school.
“We are just about to start class; can’t it wait until after class?” Malaika wondered.
“I’m sorry Malaika,” Wilonius apologized, “It is VERY important.”
“Oh of course, I forgot.” Malaika said, “Very well students please go with Master Wilonius at once.”
The three of them stood out and followed Wilonius out of classroom as the other students stared in awe and astonishment. Kasumii and Zokeii were horribly confused, unsure if they were in trouble or not, and why Jake? Was this about what happened yesterday when all three of them were able to bond with their Arma? What ever the reason, they were unsure and as they walked down the long hallways, they did not realize that Jake, who was walking close behind, was sporting a sinister smile, possibly aware of what was to come as they arrived at the door of Master Onderwijzer’s office. Wilonius knocked using the large golden Lion-headed door knockers. A voice from inside beckoned them in and Wilonius opened the door. As they walked into the large chamber, the scent of something freshly baked hit them. The room was a finely decorated chamber with high ceilings with a huge glass dome as the top. The room was round and filled with book shelves. At the end of this room, a grand desk with a tall chair, nearly ten feet tall, sitting in this chair, looking miniature compared to the rest of the room was Master Onderwijzer himself. Sitting on his desk was a platter with what appeared to be freshly baked cookies, which is where the smell was obviously coming from.
“Welcome students.” He greeted them, “Don’t worry, your not in trouble, why don’t you come over and have one of my famous homemade cookies?”
“I have to warn you students,” Wilonius whispered before they walked across the room, “Master Onderwijzer’s cooking is not the best in the world and he doesn’t like it when other people don’t enjoy his cooking.”
“What are you all whispering about over there?” Onderwijzer said, “Come sit down and have a cookie.”
He pointed at three chairs in front of his desk that weren’t there before, they walked over and the three students sat down in the stiff short chairs. He beckoned for them to take a cookie, which Kasumii and Zokeii reluctantly picked up.
“Go on Jake, have one.” Master Onderwijzer said.
“Sorry, I don’t do cookies. I happen to be allergic to chocolate.” Jake replied with a scowl.
“”Oh I’m very sorry Jake, I had no idea.” He replied coyly, “Well, what do you two think of my famous cookies? Don’t worry, they don’t bite… much.”
The two looked at each other and reluctantly took a bite. At first it was rather tasty, fresh and chocolaty, and then they were hit by something, something very, very spicy.
“What is in this?” Kasumii asked, fanning her tongue off.
“Yeah, it feels like an atomic bomb just went off in my mouth.” Zokeii said on the verge of crying.
“Why it’s my secret recipe. Chocolate chips, sugar flour, eggs, milk, and two tablespoons of crushed Bhut Jolokia, otherwise know as the Ghost Chili.” He replied, “Aren’t they delicious?”
The two tried to hide the fact that they were dying and both nodded their heads, Wilonius giving them both a tall glass of cold milk to soothe their scorched throats and burnt mouths. All the while, Jake was laughing hysterically at their pain.
“Sorry about that, children, I probably should have warned you that they were a bit spicy.” Onderwijzer said, sounding only slightly concerned.
“Just a thought for next time, maybe.” Kasumii said still suffering from the burning.
“Yes well let’s get down to business shall we?” Master Onderwijzer said, completely changing his tone now, “It appears as though the three of you have all bonded with your weapons on the first try. This has only happened once in the history of this school, once about fife hundred years ago. There is an ancient prophecy that reported that this would happen at some point and we had thought for sure that the last time it had happened that the prophecy was coming true, but it didn’t and we went for five hundred years without another incident, which is until yesterday when the three of you did the same.”
“Is that a problem?” Jake asked abruptly.
“I’m afraid it is.” The Master replied, “The prophecy states that when this happens, a great calamity will happen and someone will try and take over the world. This person can only be stopped by the One True Wielder of the Arma, which would be one of you three.”
“Who is this evil person that is supposed to take over the world then?” Kasumii asked.
“It is not quiet sure who it is at the moment, although there are a number of possibilities.” He answered, “One thing is for sure, whoever it is, is not someone we want to be taking over this world, if that happens, life as we know it will end.”
It went silent for a while as the students thought amongst themselves looking at each other and then looking back at their principle.
“We must prepare for this disaster immediately,” He started again, “If the prophecy is true, then it could be happening within the end of the school year. We must get the three of you ready for this, we will have to figure out which one of you is the One True Wielder of the Arma, this however will be a long and difficult task and it will take many hours of after curricular studying and training.”
“Master Onderwijzer, I will do whatever it takes to help,” Kasumii passionately shouted, standing on her chair throwing her fist in the air.
“I guess I will do the same.” Zokeii said, doing the same thing as Kasumii, realizing that she had just embarrassed herself, to make it not as embarrassing for her.
“You are all crazy, but I guess that can’t be helped, I’ll do the extra training, too.” Jake said, not standing on his chair but, like the others, punched his fist in the air as well.
“Now we must be sure that no one, I repeat no one knows about this, understood?” Master Onderwijzer said in a low deep voice, “or the consequences will be dire.”
“What will I tell my sister and friends when they find out I have to take a whole bunch of extracurricular classes?” Kasumii said, somewhat afraid of the drastic change of his attitude.
“Just tell them the truth, without telling them the truth. Got it?” He said, again changing his voice to the happy and funny way he had been talking previously.
“I don’t understand.” She replied.
“Tell your friends that you are going to take after school classes to improve yourself, which is what you are doing.” He stated, “Just don’t tell them that it has to do with a possible life changing event in the bear future, understood?”
“Understood.” The three said together, somewhat off, but still together.
They stood up and started for the door before he started to speak again.
“Oh, and students, please call me by my Moniker ‘Meester’, that way you don’t have to keep saying my long name.” He said with a big, goofy grin.
The three nodded to this reply and left the office, heading back to their class, giggling as they thought of the name they had just been told to call their headmaster.
“So who is it?” Meester asked aloud, now that he was alone in the office.
“He is definitely the one.” a voice said from behind one of the bookcases. The bookcase opened suddenly and revealed Wilonius and Duchess, who had been listening to the whole conversation from this hiding place. “It is strange however, his thoughts did not show any sign of him being an evil person, in fact he hardly thought at all, it’s like he is being driven by instincts alone.”
“It could be possible that he knew that you were reading his mind and therefore kept his thoughts clear.” Wilonius suggested.
“If that is true,” Meester said, “Then he is a bigger threat then we realized. What about the other two?”
“It is not yet certain which one is the True One, they both appear to have generally positive thoughts.” Duchess said, “If I had to choose one, though I would put my bet on the girl, she seems the most powerful of the three.”
”I understand.” Meester said, “Then it shall start tomorrow.”

The three students had just left the corridor leading to Master Onderwijzer’s office, when they realized that there weren’t any lights coming outside. Kasumii ran over to a window and looked out of the window to the surprising discovery that it was already night time.
“How can it already be night outside?” Kasumii questioned, “How long were we in the office?”
“It seemed like it was only a few minutes, a half an hour at most.” Zokeii said, confused as well.
“Don’t you two even know what that guy’s power is?” Jake said disgusted at his fellow students’ lack of knowledge, “He has the ability to alter the dimensions. What you thought was half an hour, was really more like nine hours.”
“Nine hours! So then we don’t get lunch?” Kasumii sadly said.
“If that is true than it is almost dinner time, I still can’t believe it though.” Zokeii said unsurely.
“I guess we’ll see as soon as we see get to the Dining Hall, wont we?” Kasumii said starting to increase her pace, “Come on let’s go, nine hours without eating and I’m starving!”
They reached the grand hallway within less then half an hour, after being only slightly lost, to find that the other students had just started to arrive for dinner, they followed the group and entered the Dining Hall. Jenny and Kuichi were already seated and waiting for them.
“Hey Kasumii, Zokeii, over here!” Jenny shouted as she saw that her friends had entered.
“Did you want to sit with us Jake?” Kasumii politely offered.
“Why?” He replied, somewhat confused by the kind gesture.
“Because you’re our friend now and friends eat dinner together.” She answered.
“I guess if you really want me to.” He said, “As long as you don’t try and set me up with your weird friend or something.”
“Jenny is not weird! She is just really happy.” She defended her.
“But does she have to be so happy all of the time?” He said, still unsure.
“That’s just how she is, if she bothers you that much, you don’t have to eat with us.” She said.
“Fine, fine whatever.” He abruptly ended the conversation.
The three walked over to the spot that her sister and friend had chosen, and took their spots sitting on either side of them in the available spots.
“Hey Kas, why is HE with you?” Jenny whispered to Kasumii as Jake sat down near them.
“He’s cool now; he’s going to start eating meals with us now, Jen.” She said with a little sarcasm at the ending, making fun of the nickname she was just called.
“Oh, Ok. Anyway, what took you guys so long? You were gone for like ever.” Jenny said changing the subject.
“You were gone for about nine hours, you all missed Ability Management, Music, Math, and Literature.” Kasumii said quietly.
“You missed lunch too! It was delicious.” Jenny added, “We thought you died.”
“Well we’re here now aren’t we? We had to meet with Meester about something very important, it took much longer then we thought it would.” Kasumii said
“Ha, who’s ‘Meester’?” Jenny said trying not to laugh.
“Master Onderwijzer, that is his ‘Moniker’ he told us to call him that from now on.” Kasumii said.
“Well what was so important that it took nine hours?” Jenny asked.
Kasumii, Zokeii and Jake looked at each other hesitantly, unsure of what to them.
“Nothing much, the three of us are going to be taking extracurricular training programs.” Kasumii said, leaving out the reason why on purpose.
“What for?” Kuichi asked.
“We are the three strongest in the class, they think, because of what happened yesterday with the Arma. So they want to help us become the most powerful we can become, because of our potential, they don’t want us to discourage the other students with our more difficult training.” Kasumii replied.
“Oh that’s cool, I guess.” Jenny said turning her attention away, somewhat upset.
“Oh yeah, and one more thing,” Kasumii said to change the subject, “If Master Onderwijzer ever offers you some ‘world famous’ cookies, don’t take them.”
“Why?” the two asked.
“Just a recommendation, that’s all.” she replied.
Soon after, dinner was served, another delicious meal, and they all went off to go to their rooms. On their way back Jenny ran up ahead and Zokeii turned back because he forgot his coat in Meester’s office. Jake disappeared as usual, leaving only Kasumii and Kuichi to walk back alone. They were just reaching the first hallway, the one that the large door led to; when Kasumii had the overpowering feeling that someone was watching them. She turned around but no one was there.
“Is something the matter?” Kuichi asked softly.
“No, it’s nothing.” She replied, turning her gaze back in front of her.
They walked the rest of the way through the hallway and made it up to the top of the stairs, before feeling it again. This time she spun around quickly, just in time to see a dark shadow duck into one of the open doorways down below. This frightened Kasumii and caused her to run, grabbing on to Kuichi’s arm and pulling along with her.
“What’s going on?” Her sister said, startled by this action as they ran to their room.
“It’s nothing; we just need to get into our room, now!” She said as she burst though the door to their room, quickly pulling Kuichi in with her before slamming the door shut and locking it.
“What was that all about?” Kuichi said panting, confused.
“It was nothing, I thought I saw something, but it was nothing, so don’t worry about it.” Kasumii said, trying to forget it happened herself.
They went to bed early that night, tired from their long day; they needed to be ready for another full day of classes tomorrow.

“A wind of change shall show its head,
To the three that shall show true strength.
The last shall be the enemy, the first the hero.
If not realized, than all shall end in glorious light.”
